This great bag is one of a series made out of some awesome cotton canvas prints I picked up from the fabric store. The durability of the thick and tight thread count was sold as a home dec fabric, but it's perfect for tote or messenger bags as well. I used some more solid canvas and twill to complete the bags and as a result, these are totally reversible and lovingly crafted :)

The bag has a lot of subtle features that all together create a practical, beautiful piece...
- The long strap *tapers* towards the center so it fits comfortably on your shoulder with less bunching. Because the strap is long, the bag can be worn across your chest or just hanging off one shoulder.
- There is a large patch pocket in the back of the bag, that is on the inside if the bag has the 'print' fabric facing out and on the outside if the 'solid' shows.
- A separate zippered bag made with matching material comes with the bag. It's great for makeup and change and anything else you would like to find more easily in such a roomy bag.
- Top-stitching is utilized throughout the bag, from the strap to the flap to the base and so on. This strengthens the construction while also visually accenting the colors and prints of the fabrics.
- There are two main compartments inside the bag... one is the full depth of the bag and the other is for flatter items, such as a newspaper or notebook. It is great for organizing!
All the fabric used was over-edged to prevent fraying and all the seams are at least double-stitched to ensure longevity. The 'stress-points' like the pockets and the straps and so on are all reinforced to make sure that this bag will last and last. All the material is 100% cotton, and can be washed by hand in cool water and laid flat to dry, or if you would rather launder it mechanically, use a delicate sweater setting on the washer and low heat in the dryer to avoid wrinkles and creases the fabric dyes and high thread count of the canvas prints can otherwise produce.
