This was such a fun skirt to make! I dove into my calico scrap bag and used anything and everything! I was all about trying to replicate the chaotic and natural look and feeling that one finds when emerging from the dark shadows of the old growth forest canopy and the coolness mixes your vision with the bright flowers and brush revealed by the sunsplashes alongside the running streams.

There are 3 pockets total in this skirt. On each side, there's a roomy, reinforced pouch-like pocket and there's a *hidden stash* inside in the front for all your kind goods :) The comfy drawstring cinch fits a range of sizes and can be worn snug on your waist or low on your hips. I like the way the tie looks in the back, but the skirt can be turned around and the tie can be worn in the front. Since there's such a mishmosh of fabrics in this skirt, you can decide for yourself how you think the skirt looks best!

There are two sets of pictures of the skirt... you can see how it looks with or without the dark blue calico that I added to the hem... I used a long baste stitch so it can be super easy and quick to alter. This means you have the choice of whether you want the skirt with a bottom tier or without! It also means you can have the skirt altered for your exact height and not have to do without the hem if that's the way you want it! And of course, if you're taller and would like even more fabric added to the length, not a problem. Awesome :)

This skirt has a lot of stitching, a lot of fabric patches, and all together it's in excellent condition, is extremely well made, and will endure and thrive all the while you wear it and dance in it and embark on your journeys :) Each and every seam is at least double-stitched to ensure longevity and also over-edged to prevent fraying. This skirt is a 'scrap bag' project, so some of the patches have been prewashed, some haven't. All of them are 100% cotton, so there is a consistancy with how it feels and how it flows. This skirt can be thrown in the washer and dryer no problem. It is *brand-new* and have never been worn.
