This is such an amazing skirt! I am so all about making more of them first chance I get :) I start with a square of fabric, cut out a circle from the center for the waist, and then keep adding fabric from there.

This skirt is based on two very complimentary calicos. Then coordinating dusty blue corduroy and denim colored voile were added along with unbleached muslin. The hem along the bottom is double-layered with the thin, gauzy voile placed over the muslin background.

This patchy skirt is as comfortable as it is fun! There is a secure and roomy patch pocket made from the same muslin and voile used along the hem. It has decorative stitching and is perfect for you basic needs :)

The drawstring casing is *inside* the skirt, so it's not too bunchy and it also gives the skirt a smoother, simplier look. The drawstring itself can be left outside or inside the skirt depending on how you feel like wearing it. All the fabric used in the skirt was all pre-washed prior to stitching up to test it's integrity. Also, all the material was over-edged to prevent fraying and all the seams are at least double-stitched to ensure longevity. This skirt has only been worn out twice ever, and it is in excellent condition.
