Hey all!
These shorts are super amazing! The scene beautifully depicts a sunset late in the evening, setting just behind the mountains, with the smoky clouds looming just above, the silhouette of an evergreen tree off to the side, and a lone star sparkling way up high. The random patches within the shorts perfectly pick up and accentuate the subdued colors you'd find scattered about a such a late hour in the day. The navy blue panels tie everything together and suggests the darkness of the night just ahead :)

These shorts were a long time in the making, and they are everything I hoped they'd be! Originally I had a simpler sunset appliqué scene in mind, but then as I started to cut out the shapes of the natural objects, I wanted to convey more and more! The clouds are a funky shape, and the print of the fabric is so right on... the mountains are a purple corduroy, and the sun's fabric has just a hint of burgundy pulled out by the red stitching around it. The tree's fabric looks like pine needles on a black background, and the star's fabric looks like tiny white dots in a dark-blue sky.
All the material used was pre-washed to test the fabrics' strength and integrity and also to pre-shrink as needed. All the seams are double-stitched to ensure longevity and all the fabric is over-edged to prevent fraying. The appliqués are all sturdy and on to stay! They are fixated with an iron-on fusing and then zigzag stitched all around. There are *three* pockets total... 2 deep, side-seam pockets and a HIDDEN STASH inside in the front. These shorts are ~brand-new~ and have never been worn except in the photos.
Enjoy!
